Burn A Day
03:42
|
|||
If you’re looking to burn a day
You can follow me around for a taste
Of a life of aluminum make
Where all the running is done in place
Looks like its gonna rain all week
And the mountains of my valley are so very steep
And Im wondering how long it’ll take
For all these little houses to just wash away
Ive been lost and found
Ive been outpaced
As Im strewn across this desert plane
Went out to an old haunt
When I was back in town for a couple days
No one knew me there anymore
I guess that “home” is a transient place
Ive been lost and found
Ive been outweighed
Ive been strewn across this desert plane

White Loon
02:48
|
|||
A White loon flew over
Skowhegan metal roofs
As I twiddled my thumbs
And read in the backseat
The endless road outstretched before us
I never thought it could be so long
It’s late, midnight. I awake
To the gravel underneath
Strange and young I dream the whole night and morning through
I never thought I could dream so long
I never thought I could dream so long

Josefina
02:14
|
|||
We must have reached the county line by now
These worn out seats are starting to get to me
And the dream of fall is resting on your shoulders
Don’t go Josefina
I can stay clean

Spell of Hope
02:48
|
|||
It came on like a spell, quickly
I let it do its work on me
I loosened my limbs and moulded to its touch
I saw the sun, It bid me hello
Playing its rays off of the snow.
And in the glare I felt a repose
A long lost feeling I was begging to know
Hope, hope, hope.

Poster Boy
03:07
|
|||
It seems so far fetched
To find someone who gets you when you’re such a damn mess
I hold things so close to me sometimes
But I'm reticent to share
Taxis are on strike
Its a long way but I think we can make it back home
If you don’t mind
If you’ve got the energy
The poster boy has passed away
And a river rose in his place
Thrashing through the undergrowth
Its carving out a brand new face
Somethings growing out of the ashes
I tried but couldn’t look away
I want you still sometimes darlin but
I think I moved on today

Passing Face
03:12
|
|||
With all your might
Shoving off another phase
That ate you up and brought you rage
You tend the garden, save your place
And all your time
Spent it on another’s wage
Soaking up a passing face
To turn the frown another day
It hurts to know
No one minds you when misery comes your way
With wandering eyes
You scan the sky for passing planes
And see the clouds as looming things
So beautiful, they haunt the day
It hurts to know
No one minds you when misery comes to stay

Flint Smile
03:42
|
|||
Oh what to do with the fire
That was lit by your smile
Struck with the pains of desire
And I just can’t hide anymore
When the bars close down for the night
Do we have to say goodbye?
It’s spring in the valley and it’s warm enough
To stay out for awhile
Just say what it is that you need to hear from me
And ill come through
Just speak the words and I'll come through for you

Commonplace
03:54
|
|||
A long day can fray the edge of your frame
It’ll put down the pollen glaze round the puddles of your brain
And the only touch that you feel is all old and gray
But such a feeling is commonplace, there is no need to run away
I plucked away all the petals and am glad to say
Something may have just come my way, when I had almost left the place
Could it be the truth, or am I just seeing through
Foggy glasses that obscure my view, and lead me astray
I wont go down
I wont go down
I'll be right here
